While cars allow you to drain motor oil by simply unscrewing a plug in a sump, a boat typically needs a different way to remove waste oil from the engine, although some boat motors also have such a plug. One of the most popular and convenient methods implies using a so-called extractor pump with a tube that should be inserted into the dipstick hole. It's recommended to pump out the oil when the engine is still warm, as warmed lubricant flows more easily. In order to equalize air pressure inside and out of the motor, remove the oil cap before you start this procedure.
